    About the Role

    As a Manager of Engineering, you will lead a team of talented, customer-focused, multi-discipline software engineers. We are looking for a leader that understands that people are the most important component of the software development process, leads by example, and inspires the team to deliver high-quality results on time. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will manage a range of mobile and web projects that power our platform and consumer-facing products.

    Your Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Partner with cross-functional team leaders to understand goals and vision, translate into development projects and guide business decisions
    • Mentor and coach individual engineers in career development, organization-wide standards, code and system architecture and personal performance expectations to support ongoing team development
    • Produce high-level estimates for development projects to support decision making and project prioritization
    • Triage, management, and resolution of production level issues to ensure a high level of uptime of our platform
    • Encourage innovation, implementation of new technologies, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, and self-organization
    • Manage the day-to-day priorities for individual engineers to ensure a high level of quality and productivity
    • Measure and manage SDLC from development through production release
    • Assist team in finding innovative and creative answers to our toughest technical questions
    • Discover, acquire and retain the best talent to grow a world-class team
    • Manage outsourced development relationships, resources, and delivery
    • Interact with technical counterparts at partner companies to create innovative solutions


    Your Skills and Education

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
    • 10 years’ experience in software engineering with at least 3 years managing people and at least 5 years working on consumer-facing products
    • Experience with release on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store
    • Management of production web applications at scale
    • Wide ranging experience with Amazon Web Services
    • History as a successful software engineer
